His Secret
Chapter 13
The Lion with Eagle’s Wings
And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another. – Daniel 7:3
These four beasts come up out of the sea. The sea is Babylon, therefore they are of Babylon. They are different one from another. Each beast has its own characteristics or its own unique identity separate from the other beasts.
The first was like a lion, and had eagles’ wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it. - Daniel 7:4
This is the first beast to come up from the sea. This beast is a lion. As it has been shown, the sea is Babylon. That means that these beasts come up from Babylon. We can therefore associate these beasts with what is currently known about Babylon.
This lion had eagles’ wings and these wings were plucked. When the wings are plucked this lion is made to stand upon its feet as a man and a man’s heart is given to it. Every single one of these elements of the lion has a meaning. It actually tells a story. Let’s find out who this lion is and what it represents.
The definitions for lion taken down to its root and combining the meanings, equates to; a violent gathering; by extension pierce, gather, pluck. [1]
From this definition we can ascertain a few clues. The lion has been shown to be associated with the Scorpions and the Serpents. [2] The words within this definition give us some clues. The word violent is associated with the Serpents. The word pierce is associated with the Scorpions. The word gathering, and gather is associated with the Multitude. Finally we have the word pluck. This is a direct connection to the wings that are plucked off of the lion. But which is it? Is it the Scorpions, the Serpents, or the Multitude? Or is it all three?
The Scorpions of the 5th trumpet have the teeth of a lion, the Serpents of the 6th trumpet have the mouth of a lion, and they violently gather the Multitude. In Isaiah 21:8, the watchman sees a lion. He then sees a chariot of horses which represents the 5th trumpet. It is stated at this time that “Babylon is fallen, is fallen.” A lion is announced prior to the chariot of horses. The watchman foresees violence on its way. When does Babylon fall? It falls at the 5th trumpet.
In Amos 3:12, we find the shepherd removing two legs and a piece of an ear from the lion. It is Israel that will be removed from the mouth of the lion by the Lord at the gathering together of His elect. This would be the Remnant of Israel, the Multitude that is taken out of the mouth of the lion; the lion being the Serpents and the Scorpions.
The lion is no doubt depicting violence. Who is the recipient of the violence? The Multitude is the recipient of the violence. Both the Scorpions and the Serpents are seen in the image of this lion. The gathering of the Multitude is also there. But how is the lion associated with the Multitude?
There is a much deeper understanding to be obtained about this lion besides the identification of which group(s) this lion represents; for this lion represents all three; the Scorpions, the Serpents, and the Multitude. This lion and the description of the wings and what happens to it will also give us a picture of the process that occurs within the kingdom of heaven.
First, let’s establish exactly what a lion is a metaphorical representation of. It has been quoted earlier that the Scorpions of the 5th trumpet have the teeth of a lion and the Serpents of the 6th trumpet have the mouth of a lion.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. – Micah 5:8
The remnant of Jacob can be a lion. The remnant of Jacob is the 144,000 and the Multitude. However, the Multitude does not reach that status until they return to the Lord. When do they return? This question will be answered when we fully understand what this lion in Daniel represents. This verse in Micah is referring to the 144,000 based upon the verse preceding this verse.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men. – Micah 5:7
The identification of the 144,000 is in the dew and showers. This too will be proven during this examination of the lion of Daniel. The 144,000 can be a lion.
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: - 1 Peter 5:8
The devil can be a roaring lion.
And one of the elders saith unto me, Weep not: behold, the Lion of the tribe of Juda, the Root of David, hath prevailed to open the book, and to loose the seven seals thereof. - Revelation 5:5
Jesus Christ is the Lion of the tribe of Judah. When we become saved and are baptized into Jesus Christ, we put on Christ. We therefore put on the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. - Galatians 3:27
Searching this out, the lion can be a metaphor for the Scorpions, the Serpents, the devil, Jesus Christ, and the 144,000. What about the Multitude? When the Multitude comes to the Truth, repents of their iniquities, and accepts the punishment due them; they will put on Christ. Since Christ is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, they will put on the Lion of the tribe of Judah. They will then be a part of the remnant of Jacob who are already lions because they are already in Jesus Christ and already are of the Lion of the tribe of Judah.
Which lion is this representative of? This question will be answered after we receive a full understanding of not just the lion, but the different aspects surrounding the lion. To do that, we must look at all of the elements of this lion. This lion has eagles’ wings.
The eagle can represent protection.
And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. - Revelation 12:14
This verse would apply to the 144,000 which the Lord gives two wings of a great eagle that takes her to a place of safety. The eagle can also be destruction.
Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat. - Habakkuk 1:8
The eagle that is spoken about in this verse are the Serpents. The Serpents do the killing of the Multitude. That is why in Revelation they are gathered around the dead bodies of the Multitude.
For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together. - Matthew 24:28
Since these beasts come up out of the sea, and the sea is Babylon, and Babylon has been shown to represent the kingdom of heaven; then the eagles’ wings cannot represent the 144,000. The 144,000 have already come out of Babylon. The only ones left in Babylon are the Serpents, the Scorpions, and the Multitude. Therefore, the eagles’ wings must represent the Serpents, and indeed they do.
There is another aspect to the eagles’ wings. Even though they are representative of the Serpents, we know that the Scorpions are always there with the Serpents. Sometimes they are not so easy to see, but they are there. The Scorpions are the birds of the heaven that feast on the goods of the Multitude. These are wings of a bird. The Scorpions can very easily be represented there also; and indeed they are.
The four horsemen of the Apocalypse are the white horse which represents the Multitude, the red horse represents the Serpents, the black horse represents the Scorpions, and the pale horse represents the combination of the Scorpions and the Serpents. The four beasts of Daniel run parallel to those four horsemen.
If this is so, then this lion must represent the Multitude. There is a problem though. The Serpents and the Scorpions are also on this lion. Daniel states “I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked.”
Daniel is standing there looking as these four beasts rise up out of the sea. He watches as these eagles’ wings are plucked off of this lion. If the eagles’ wings are representative of the Serpents and the Scorpions, and they are removed off of this lion, then there must be something in scripture that substantiates this process.
Remember the parable about the tares in the field in Matthew 13:24-30? The tares (Scorpions and Serpents) are growing with the wheat (Multitude) until the time of the harvest, at which time Jesus says “I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.” [3]
The tares (Scorpions and Serpents) are gathered first and bound in bundles (The union between the Serpents and the Scorpions) to be burned. They are burned after the harvest of the wheat is in the barn. (Multitude killed)
There is the other parable that has been used previously about the net that is cast into the sea in Matthew 13:47-50. The net contains the Serpents, the Scorpions, and the Multitude. The bad are cast away (Scorpions and Serpents) and the good (Multitude) are gathered into vessels. (Killed) Jesus states “the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just.” [4]
The wicked are severed from among the just. The Scorpions and the Serpents are taken out from amongst the Multitude just as they are removed from the wheat field first. The Scorpions and the Serpents are removed from the kingdom of heaven which leaves the Multitude. We can find clarification of this in the following verse.
There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out. - Luke 13:28
From this verse we can see that the ones that are in the predicament of weeping and gnashing of teeth are the ones that are thrust out of the kingdom of God. They are the Scorpions and the Serpents that are removed from the kingdom of God and the kingdom of heaven; just as the tares and the bad fish are removed.
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven. - Matthew 8:11
The many that is being spoken about in this verse would be the Multitude. They do not get thrust out of the kingdom of heaven but sit down in the kingdom of heaven with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob embracing their true heritage in the covenant of God.
When the eagles’ wings are removed, all that remains is the lion. At this point “it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man's heart was given to it.” [5]
To understand what the lifting up and standing upon its feet as a man and a man’s heart being given to it; we need to look at a dream of king Nebuchadnezzar and Daniel’s interpretation of that dream.
Take some time and read through this dream, interpretation, and actual enactment of the dream. This is most interesting and this is full of clues relating to the players and the events of the end times.
O Belteshazzar, master of the magicians, because I know that the spirit of the holy gods is in thee, and no secret troubleth thee, tell me the visions of my dream that I have seen, and the interpretation thereof. [10] Thus were the visions of mine head in my bed; I saw, and behold a tree in the midst of the earth, and the height thereof was great.
[11] The tree grew, and was strong, and the height thereof reached unto heaven, and the sight thereof to the end of all the earth: [12] The leaves thereof were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all: the beasts of the field had shadow under it, and the fowls of the heaven dwelt in the boughs thereof, and all flesh was fed of it.
[13] I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven; [14] He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches: [15] nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: [16] Let his heart be changed from man's, and let a beast's heart be given unto him; and let seven times pass over him.
[17] This matter is by the decree of the watchers, and the demand by the word of the holy ones: to the intent that the living may know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will, and setteth up over it the basest of men. [18] This dream I king Nebuchadnezzar have seen. Now thou, O Belteshazzar, declare the interpretation thereof, forasmuch as all the wise men of my kingdom are not able to make known unto me the interpretation: but thou art able; for the spirit of the holy gods is in thee.
[19] Then Daniel, whose name was Belteshazzar, was astonied for one hour, and his thoughts troubled him. The king spake, and said, Belteshazzar, let not the dream, or the interpretation thereof, trouble thee. Belteshazzar answered and said, My lord, the dream be to them that hate thee, and the interpretation thereof to thine enemies. [20] The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth; [21] Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation:
[22] It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth. [23] And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
[24] This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king: [25] That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
26] And whereas they commanded to leave the stump of the tree roots; thy kingdom shall be sure unto thee, after that thou shalt have known that the heavens do rule. [27] Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity. [28] All this came upon the king Nebuchadnezzar. [29] At the end of twelve months he walked in the palace of the kingdom of Babylon.
[30] The king spake, and said, Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honour of my majesty? [31] While the word was in the king's mouth, there fell a voice from heaven, saying, O king Nebuchadnezzar, to thee it is spoken; The kingdom is departed from thee. [32] And they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field: they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and seven times shall pass over thee, until thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
[33] The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles' feathers, and his nails like birds' claws. [34] And at the end of the days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me, and I blessed the most High, and I praised and honoured him that liveth for ever, whose dominion is an everlasting dominion, and his kingdom is from generation to generation: - Daniel 4:9-34
There are numerous clues within this dream, the interpretation, and the actual physical fulfillment of the dream. In deciphering these three components, we will not only understand the rest of the lion attributes in Daniel 7, but this will give us clarification of the entire Tribulation and how the kingdom of heaven comes to fruition.
A quick summation of this dream combining the interpretation and the fulfillment are as follows: The tree is a representation of King Nebuchadnezzar’s kingdom of Babylon. When he disacknowledges God, he loses his kingdom; the tree is cut down. A band of iron and brass is placed around the roots signifying that the kingdom is still there, but he loses his place. He becomes a beast of the field until 7 times pass over him at which time his understanding returns to him and he is restored to his previous position.
Within these three components, the dream, the interpretation, and the fulfillment, we will pull out crucial points that are absolutely amazing; for they are a spiritual parallel to the end times.
The tree that thou sawest, which grew, and was strong, whose height reached unto the heaven, and the sight thereof to all the earth; [21] Whose leaves were fair, and the fruit thereof much, and in it was meat for all; under which the beasts of the field dwelt, and upon whose branches the fowls of the heaven had their habitation: [22] It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth. – Daniel 4:20-22
As we are going through these clues, be thinking of the parallel spiritual Babylon.
Daniel tells us in verse 22 that this tree represents the kingdom of Babylon. (Spiritual Babylon) The beasts of the field (Serpents) [6] are dwelling under the tree. (In Babylon) The fowls of the heaven (Scorpions) 6 are living in the branches. This tree has much fruit (Multitude – parallels the fruit on the Mulberry tree) on it, which provides enough meat for all.
Within this tree (Babylon) we have the identification of the Serpents, the Scorpions, and the Multitude.
I saw in the visions of my head upon my bed, and, behold, a watcher and an holy one came down from heaven; [14] He cried aloud, and said thus, Hew down the tree, and cut off his branches, shake off his leaves, and scatter his fruit: let the beasts get away from under it, and the fowls from his branches: - Daniel 4:13, 14
There is a dual identification within this tree. The beasts of the field (Serpents) and the fowls of the heaven (Scorpions) are also represented in the actual tree itself. The fruit in the previous passage alluded to being the Multitude but is confirmed within this passage. The fruit of this tree is to be scattered. The Multitude is scattered just as the hair is scattered in Ezekiel, chapter 5. The branches of the tree are cut off and the leaves are shaken off of this tree.
The branches represent the Serpents. The leaves represent the Scorpions.
Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off. – Romans 11:22
If a person does not continue in the goodness of the Lord they shall be cut off. It is the branches of the olive tree that are cut off in this verse; just as the branches of the tree of Babylon are cut off.
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh: - Matthew 24:32
The parable of the fig tree gives us additional clues. In another event Jesus curses a fig tree that was barren and the tree withers because it bore no fruit. [7] A tree that bears no fruit is hewn down and cast into the fire. [8] What tree gets hewn down in king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream? The tree that represents Babylon is hewn down. Who is cast into the fire? The Scorpions and the Serpents get thrown into the fire, the lake of fire.
The branch on the fig tree while it is still young puts forth leaves. These leaves come from the branch. The branch gives these leaves their sustenance (Power) that they need to flourish. The leaves are the Scorpions that are in the symbiotic relationship with the Serpents. The leaves then feed the tree with the things that the tree needs to survive. They feed off of each other in support of each other.
Then we are told when we see this happening; the branch putting forth leaves, we are to know that summer is near. Summer is another metaphor for the Scorpions. [9] The Scorpions or the 5th trumpet is near. When this branch is putting forth its leaves, the Scorpions are coming.
The tree in king Nebuchadnezzar’s dream is Babylon. It is hewn down. (Babylon falls) The branches are cut off, (Serpents) the leaves are shaken off (Scorpions) and the fruit is scattered. (Multitude) The beasts of the field (Serpents) and the fowls (Scorpions) are to leave. They are cut off and shaken off and told to get thee hence.
This tree represents Babylon, the ancient physical and the current spiritual Babylon. The branches (Serpents) and leaves (Scorpions) are cut off just like the 2/3 that are cut off in Zechariah 13:8. The fruit (Multitude) is scattered. The beasts (Serpents) and the fowls (Scorpions) leave. They are severed from among the just and removed from the kingdom of heaven.
Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass , in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: - Daniel 4:15
In the interpretation of this passage by Daniel, it was signified to the king that his kingdom would continue and be there for him when he returned.
In the spiritual overlay [10] the tree, Babylon is fallen, is fallen. What is left is a stump of its roots in the earth held together with a band of iron and brass. A stump of a tree is good for nothing. It will eventually rot away. A tree will never grow out of this stump again. The band of iron represents the Scorpions and the brass represents the Serpents. The band is a joining of the two groups, the Scorpions and the Serpents. What could this possibly represent?
Let’s look at some definitions. The word leave means; to quit, i.e. allow to remain:--leave, let alone. [11] The word stump means; a stock:--stump. [12] The under-definition means; pluck up by the roots. [13] The next under-definition means; to pluck up (especially by the roots), to exterminate, pluck up, root up. [14] The definition for band is; band, imprisonment. [15]
The stump is what is left of the tree; what is left of the kingdom of heaven. The beasts (Serpents) and fowls (Scorpions) are no longer there. They have been plucked up just as the wings were plucked off of the lion.
The stump would have to represent the Multitude. This stump remains in the earth. The under-definitions signify that it is plucked up, which normally a stump would be plucked up. But in this case, it is to remain. Then this band of iron and brass is placed around the stump completely encircling it. This band of iron and brass represents imprisonment. The stump (Multitude) is encircled by the iron (Scorpions) and brass (Serpents) that are joined together as one band. They are imprisoned by this band, and indeed they are.
Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass , in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: - Daniel 4:15
The stump (Multitude) is in the tender grass of the field imprisoned by the Scorpions and the Serpents. It is wet with the dew of heaven. Since everything within this dream are metaphors for something else, the tender grass of the field and being wet with the dew of heaven must also have significance. The stump (Multitude) has the Scorpions and the Serpents all around them yet they are in the tender grass of the field.
The definition of tender grass of the field is; tender grass. [16] The under-definition
means; a sprout; by analogy, grass:--(tender) grass, green, (tender)herb. [17] The
next under-definition means; to sprout:--bring forth, spring. [18]
The tender grass is new sprouts or tender herbs that have sprouted forth. Look at the last definition to bring forth. This definition reminds one of the phrase bring forth in relation to the man child in Revelation, chapter 12. Who is brought forth? The Multitude is brought forth. The tender grass of the field is an indication that the Multitude is now coming out of their apostasy and coming to the truth of the Lord. We can substantiate this in Joel.
Lament like a virgin girded with sackcloth for the husband of her youth. [9] The meat offering and the drink offering is cut off from the house of the LORD; the priests, the LORD'S ministers, mourn. [10] The field is wasted, the land mourneth; for the corn is wasted: the new wine is dried up, the oil languisheth. [11] Be ye ashamed, O ye husbandmen; howl, O ye vinedressers, for the wheat and for the barley; because the harvest of the field is perished. – Joel 1:8-11
In the first part of Joel, chapter 1; the cankerworm, palmerworm, locust, and caterpillar come against the Multitude in the form of the Scorpions. When this has happened, the Multitude then laments like a virgin for the husband of her youth. This is speaking about the 5 unwise virgins (Multitude) that realizes the predicament that they are in. They realize that they left their husband (Jesus) to go awhoring. They are mournfully reminiscing about the time when they were one with the Lord and how they left Him. In verse 10 the field is wasted for the rain (Word of the Lord) is dried up. The land is in famine for the hearing of the Word of the Lord. [19] This description continues in verse 18.
How do the beasts groan! the herds of cattle are perplexed, because they have no pasture; yea, the flocks of sheep are made desolate. [19] O LORD, to thee will I cry: for the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness, and the flame hath burned all the trees of the field. [20] The beasts of the field cry also unto thee: for the rivers of waters are dried up, and the fire hath devoured the pastures of the wilderness. – Joel 1:18-20
The beasts groan for there is no pasture for the herds of cattle. Let’s look at Daniel 4:15 again.
Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass , in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: - Daniel 4:15
Whose portion or part is with the beasts of the earth? It is the stump’s portion. The Multitude’s portion will be with the beasts of the earth. The beasts who in Joel 1:18 have no pasture. We will see confirmation of the Multitude also being a beast of the field a bit later. The flocks of the sheep are made desolate. Who are the flocks of the sheep? The flocks of the sheep are Multitude that are led to the slaughter.
The fire (Scorpions) have devoured the pastures. (The possessions of the Multitude) The flame (Scorpions) has burned all the trees (Multitude) of the field. The rivers of water (The Word) are dried up just as the sea is dried up. The stump that is left in the tender grass of the field is a word picture of the Multitude that has been in lies.
Therefore the Judgement of the Lord comes down upon them in the form of the Scorpions and the Serpents who burn up the fields, dry up the waters and desolate the flocks of the sheep.
When this is occurring the Multitude wakes up and comes to the Truth. When they are coming out of their lies and into the Truth, they are in the tender grass of the field that springs forth around them. We can see this transformation in the next passage of Joel.
Fear not, O land; be glad and rejoice: for the LORD will do great things. [22] Be not afraid, ye beasts of the field: for the pastures of the wilderness do spring, for the tree beareth her fruit, the fig tree and the vine do yield their strength. [23] Be glad then, ye children of Zion, and rejoice in the LORD your God: for he hath given you the former rain moderately, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain in the first month.
[24] And the floors shall be full of wheat, and the fats shall overflow with wine and oil. [25] And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten, the cankerworm, and the caterpiller, and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you. - Joel 2:21-25
When the Multitude comes to the Truth and repents of their iniquity, the Lord accepts them back as the “Remnant of Israel” and they enter into Zion. The pastures spring forth because the stump of the tree of Babylon remains. (Remnant) They are in the tender grass that is springing forth. The pastures that are in Joel, chapter 2, are springing forth the tender grass where the Multitude is.
Another item of note in this passage is the rain that comes down; the former rain, the rain, and the latter rain which is what makes the pastures spring forth. This is the Word of God that comes down upon them. The Word of God was dried up in the church thus the fields were dried up and burnt up. There is another verse that confirms that the rain and latter rain were not raining down upon them.
Therefore the showers have been withholden, and there hath been no latter rain; and thou hadst a whore's forehead, thou refusedst to be ashamed. - Jeremiah 3:3
The showers and the latter rain (The Word of the Lord) have been withheld making their fields and pastures dry up, not to mention the rivers and pools of water. Why did this happen? The rain has been withheld because she has a whore’s forehead. This is what has caused all of this. The judgement comes down upon the church and especially upon the Multitude for they have gone awhoring.
The Lord then restores the years that that the cankerworm, caterpillar, palmerworm, and the locust consumed. [20] The Lord restores all things. He will rain the Word of the Lord down upon the Multitude.
Nevertheless leave the stump of his roots in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass , in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts in the grass of the earth: - Daniel 4:15
The stump (Multitude) is in the tender grass of the field that is springing forth because of the rain that it receives in Joel, chapter 2. This is referred to in Daniel 4:15 as “the dew of heaven.” What is the dew of heaven? Dew is defined as just that; dew, or dew as covering vegetation. [21]
Some definitions for dew in the dictionary are; to run, as in a spring, brook. Anything regarded as refreshing, gently falling, pure, etc. like dew. [22]
These definitions certainly indicate water, even running water, springs or brooks that are refreshing and pure. This sure could be a description of the rivers of living water, the Word of God.
The stump (Multitude) is wet with the dew of heaven. How does the dew come down upon them? We have seen all of the groups in this dream except one, the 144,000. The 144,000 feed the Word to the Multitude. Can they be the dew of heaven?
And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men. – Micah 5:7
The remnant of Jacob in this verse is the 144,000. The next verse following this verse will identify this group as the 144,000.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be among the Gentiles in the midst of many people as a lion among the beasts of the forest, as a young lion among the flocks of sheep: who, if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver. – Micah 5:8
Let’s parse this verse out for it will give us a positive identification of the 144,000. The remnant of Jacob (144,000) shall be among the Gentiles. Who are the Gentiles? The Gentiles spoken of here would be the spiritual Gentiles of the Scorpions and the Serpents. The 144,000 will be in the midst of many people. The many people would be the Multitude for they are referred to as a great (Many) [23] multitude (People) [24] in Revelation 7:9.
The 144,000 are as a lion for they are in Christ and have put on Christ who is the Lion of the tribe of Judah. [25] They are among the beasts of the forest. The beasts of the forest are the Serpents and the Scorpions. The beasts of the forest are beasts within a forest of trees. Who is the forest? The forest is the church. Who are the trees in the forest? They are the people of the church.
The 144,000 are as a lion among the beasts of the forest. The beasts of the forest are speaking about the Serpents and the Scorpions. We can clarify this by looking at the next part of the verse, “as a young lion among the flocks of sheep.”
The flocks of the sheep are most definitely the Multitude. Since the beasts of the forest are the Serpents and the Scorpions, and the Multitude is identified in the same verse as the flocks of the sheep; this would then identify the Serpents and the Scorpions as the beasts in the forest.
The 144,000 is among the beasts of the forest and “if he go through, both treadeth down, and teareth in pieces, and none can deliver.” The beasts of the forest are the Serpents and the Scorpions.
There are verses that confirm that the 144,000 have power to tread upon the Serpents and the Scorpions.
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you. - Luke 10:19
Thou shalt tread upon the lion and adder: the young lion and the dragon shalt thou trample under feet. – Psalms 91:13
The lion in this verse is the Scorpions. The adder is of course the Serpents. The young lion would be the Scorpions for the dragon is representative of the Serpents. The Serpent’s father is the devil who is the dragon. They are of their father the devil.
Having identified that the remnant of Jacob as the 144,000, we can now determine that the 144,000 delivers the dew of heaven that is spoken about
in Micah 5:7.
And the remnant of Jacob shall be in the midst of many people as a dew from the LORD, as the showers upon the grass, that tarrieth not for man, nor waiteth for the sons of men. – Micah 5:7
“The remnant of Jacob (144,000) shall be in the midst of many people (Great Multitude) as a dew from the Lord and as the showers upon the grass.” That would be upon the tender grass that the stump (Multitude) is in.
The dew from the Lord that the 144,000 delivers to the Multitude is the Truth, the Word of the Lord that will come down to them as the rain, the former and the latter rain that previously was withheld for their pastures and the fields had to become dry first.
We now have a complete understanding about this tree of Babylon. The tree gets cut down leaving the stump, the 1/3 being the Multitude.
And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the LORD, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. – Zechariah 13:8
This is even more clarification of why the stump is left. The Lord cuts 2/3 off, the branches and the leaves. The third of the kingdom of heaven is left therein as the stump in the tender grass of the field. The fruit (Multitude) is scattered.
The beasts of the field and the fowls that were lodged in the branches are booted out from the kingdom of heaven. This is the eagles’ wings being plucked off of the lion. However, they then show up as the band of iron and brass around the stump that imprisons the Multitude. The stump is in the tender grass for they are coming out of their refuge of lies and are receiving rain as the Truth of the Word of the Lord via the 144,000.
The portion of the Multitude that is with the beasts of the field will be explained in the next part of this writing when we look at the actual events that occurred with king Nebuchadnezzar.

[22] It is thou, O king, that art grown and become strong: for thy greatness is grown, and reacheth unto heaven, and thy dominion to the end of the earth. [23] And whereas the king saw a watcher and an holy one coming down from heaven, and saying, Hew the tree down, and destroy it; yet leave the stump of the roots thereof in the earth, even with a band of iron and brass, in the tender grass of the field; and let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let his portion be with the beasts of the field, till seven times pass over him;
[24] This is the interpretation, O king, and this is the decree of the most High, which is come upon my lord the king: [25] That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven, and seven times shall pass over thee, till thou know that the most High ruleth in the kingdom of men, and giveth it to whomsoever he will.
