The Trumpet Judgements Unveiled
Chapter 15
Horsemen, Lions, and Asses
This army of horsemen that comes against the Multitude is a large army.
And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them. - Revelation 9:16
At first glance, this number that is stated is two hundred million horsemen. That’s a lot of horsemen. Let’s take a closer look at this number. For it is a number, or an amount of horsemen.
The number two hundred is actually defined as; a primary numeral; “two”, both, twain. [1] This just has the number two, or both indicated.
Let’s look at the word thousand. This is defined as; a ten-thousand; by extension, a myriad or indefinite number. [2] Its under-definition is defined as; (properly, meaning very many); ten thousand; by extension, innumerably many:--ten thousand. [3]
When we were looking at the definition for the word more from “they are more than the grasshoppers” passage in Jeremiah 46:23, we found the word myriad in the definition. We also looked at the word innumerable. It has a two fold understanding. The first is that they are not counted for the seed. The second understanding is that an innumerable amount is uncountable.
The word myriad is defined as in the dictionary as; 1. ten thousand. 2. any indefinitely large number. 3. a large number of persons or things. [4]
They are referred to as a great multitude which certainly implies a large number. In fact the great multitude in Revelation 7:9 is followed by the next part of the verse “which no man could number.” The Serpents being the same amount as the Multitude, a third, would be a great army.
And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. - Revelation 9:17
In the 5th trumpet we saw that the Scorpions had breastplates of iron. These Serpents of the 6th trumpet have breastplates of fire, jacinth, and brimstone. Since the breastplates of iron represented a yoke of bondage for the Multitude, these breastplates of fire, jacinth, and brimstone must represent something also, which they do.
First of all, as Christians we are told to have the breastplate of righteousness. [5] Notice that both the Scorpions and the Serpents also have breastplates. But they are breastplates signifying bondage and death. For it is by the Serpent’s actions that the Multitude is murdered.
We already have fire identified as wickedness in Isaiah 9:18; For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke.
The jacinth requires a bit more investigation. Jacinth is defined as a; deep blue color. [6]
The color blue is our only clue on this. When the color blue is researched, we find that there are three colors that are used in the cloth of the tabernacle and many other items made of cloth containing these three colors, blue, purple, and scarlet. The ephod and the breastplate of judgement are also made of these colors. Gold is also used.
And thou shalt make the breastplate of judgment with cunning work; after the work of the ephod thou shalt make it; of gold, of blue, and of purple, and of scarlet, and of fine twined linen, shalt thou make it. - Exodus 28:15
The combinations of these particular colors are associated with the temple and the items of the temple. They must have some type of religious significance.
We see the color blue on the breastplates of these horsemen, but what about the colors purple, and scarlet? They are missing. No, they are not missing. There is another component of the Serpents, the Whore of Babylon. The other two colors show up on her.
And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: - Revelation 17:4
The woman, the Whore of Babylon is arrayed in purple and scarlet. And gold is also mentioned. In fact, the cup she holds is a golden cup.
The blue that the Serpents have upon their breastplates must somehow be representative of their religious seat of authority. Since the Serpents are part of the whore, the color that they possess is part of the whore. We can also find that there are some horsemen of war that are clothed in blue in Ezekiel.
And Aholah played the harlot when she was mine; and she doted on her lovers, on the Assyrians her neighbours, [6] Which were clothed with blue, captains and rulers, all of them desirable young men, horsemen riding upon horses. - Ezekiel 23:5, 6
Aholah and Aholibah are two lewd sisters that play the harlot with the Egyptians and Assyrians. The Serpents are the spiritual Assyrians. (A spiritual identification) The Assyrians are horsemen that are clothed in blue. Aholah and Aholibah are representative of the Multitude. Notice that these in blue are horsemen riding upon horses. The entire chapter of Ezekiel 23 has all three groups all over it.
The colors blue, purple, scarlet, and gold are the colors of the First Tabernacle and the holy things of God. The Whore and the Beast perversely use the same colors in an ungodly temple constructed by hands of flesh.
The brimstone that is upon the breastplates represents the political authority or the power that the Serpents possess. When we go through the definitions to the sub-definitions, we come to a definition of magistrate. [7] Also, we find the word godlike. [8] The Serpents are acting in the flesh doing the dirty deeds that they do. They are in effect placing themselves as their own gods. Of course their god is the dragon, but they place themselves in the place of God, making their decisions based upon the flesh.
The fire represents wickedness, the jacinth as the color of blue represents their religious authority and the brimstone represents their jurisdictional and authoritative power. Their jurisdictional power that they have has been granted to them by the political governmental system that will be in place at that time.
The breastplates of fire, jacinth, and brimstone represent wickedness, religious authority, and jurisdictional power. This is what they brandish upon their breastplates, the breastplates of unrighteousness. This is their power they possess to murder the Multitude.
…And the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. - Revelation 9:17
As we had discussed earlier, the lion represents violence. Here are a few verses that give us the lion as a destroyer and a slayer. Keep in mind that the beast has the mouth of a lion.
The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant. - Jeremiah 4:7
The lion comes out of his place to destroy the Gentiles. Wait a minute. Aren’t the Serpents the spiritual Gentiles that tread underfoot the Multitude? Yes, the Serpents are the spiritual Gentiles. So are the Scorpions. The Multitude is also spiritual Gentiles prior to them becoming the Multitude.
Each and every one of the Multitude is a spiritual Gentile until they become the Remnant of Israel. When they come to the truth, they move from being a spiritual Gentile to become a spiritual Jew, and also at that time they officially become one of the Multitude.
Let me also clarify the phrase “without an inhabitant” in the above verse. You will see many references throughout the Bible using this or similar phrases. Does this mean that there is nobody left at all? No, it does not. The inhabitants that these verses are speaking about are the inhabitants of spiritual Jerusalem, Judah, Israel, etc.
There will be the Scorpions and the Serpents left of the church until the 7th trumpet. Then their demise is eminent. But there will also be the heathen. The Lord is judging His church and those that call themselves Christians. There are people left on earth after the 7th trumpet and during the millennial reign of Christ. See Zechariah chapter 14. When there are references to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea, this would be speaking about the spiritual or celestial inhabiters of the church on earth and in the sea. The judgement of God deals with the church.
Wherefore a lion out of the forest shall slay them, and a wolf of the evenings shall spoil them, a leopard shall watch over their cities: every one that goeth out thence shall be torn in pieces: because their transgressions are many, and their backslidings are increased. - Jeremiah 5:6
Here is some additional identification of the groups in the verse above. The lion is obviously speaking about the Serpents for the Serpents do the killing of the Multitude. The wolf shall spoil them. Who does the spoiling? The Scorpions take the spoil. Therefore, the wolf is an added identification of the Scorpions. Does a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” sound familiar?
“A leopard shall watch over their cities.” The word watch has as one of its definitions look out. Which of the two groups is a look out? The Scorpions are the lookouts. Remember the definition for scorpion, a sentry or scout. Add the leopard to the list of metaphors for the Scorpions.
The beast has the body of a leopard, and everyone that goes out will be torn in pieces.
Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch. - Amos 3:12
Remember we were looking at the two sisters Aholah and Aholibah? These two sisters are identified as Samaria and Jerusalem. [9] These are spiritual identifications of the Multitude. Notice in Amos 3:12 that those that dwell in Samaria will be taken out like a shepherd takes out two legs and an ear out of the mouth of a lion. Samaria is just another spiritual identification for Babylon.
Is not Calno as Carchemish? is not Hamath as Arpad? is not Samaria as Damascus? - Isaiah 10:9
This verse tells us that one name is as another; Calno is Carchemish, Hamath is Arpad, and Samaria is Damascus. Therefore, Damascus is as Samaria; Samaria is as Babylon, Babylon is as Jerusalem, etc.
The children of Israel shall be taken out of Samaria and Damascus (Babylon) in pieces just as the lamb is removed from the mouth of a lion in pieces; devoured and destroyed.
...and out of their mouths issued fire and smoke and brimstone. - Revelation 9:17
We have previously covered the metaphor fire as being wickedness.
For wickedness burneth as the fire: it shall devour the briers and thorns, and shall kindle in the thickets of the forest, and they shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke. - Isaiah 9:18
Also we have a reference in James 3:6 that “the tongue is a fire.” It is referring to the words that a person speaks.
And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell. - James 3:6
This verse certainly seems to be referring to the Serpents in this verse. The words spoken by a man reveals the inner man. If they are wicked, their words reveal this wickedness.
What does smoke stand for? Let’s look at this next verse. It shows us what the smoke is.
…O God, why hast thou cast us off for ever? why doth thine anger smoke against the sheep of thy pasture? - Psalm 74:1
Smoke is representative of anger which we have previously covered. In this verse it is representative of the Lord’s anger. It is the Lord’s anger that comes down upon the Multitude through the Serpents as the unrighteous vessels of the Lord.
We have also previously covered the word brimstone. This represents their authority and power as magistrates. The fire, smoke, and brimstone represent wickedness, anger, jurisdictional and authoritative power.
By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke, and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. - Revelation 9:18
1/3 of men are killed by the “fire, smoke, and brimstone.” The 1/3 that are killed are the Multitude. The apostate murder the Multitude by the wickedness they possess and are consumed with. Because of the wickedness that they possess and are consumed with, they will accuse and in fact blasphemy the Holy Ghost in their accusations against the Multitude. This is the Wormwood that comes out of their mouths in the form of the wickedness, anger, and power.
Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Behold, I will feed them, even this people, with wormwood, and give them water of gall to drink. - Jeremiah 9:15
When we take another look at this definition for wormwood in the above verse we pick up something interesting. One of its definitions means; to curse. [10] What do the Serpents do when they blasphemy the Holy Ghost that indwells the Multitude? They curse them. Another of the definitions says the wormwood is poisonous and therefore considered accursed. That would describe the Serpents to a tee, accursed. This is the wormwood that they feed to the Multitude.
Also the water of gall has the word poison in its definition. One of its definitions is defined as; the poison of the Serpents. [11]
Wherefore it shall come to pass, that when the Lord hath performed his whole work upon mount Zion and on Jerusalem, I will punish the fruit of the stout heart of the king of Assyria, and the glory of his high looks. [13] For he saith, By the strength of my hand I have done it, and by my wisdom; for I am prudent: and I have removed the bounds of the people, and have robbed their treasures, and I have put down the inhabitants like a valiant man: - Isaiah 10:12,13)
The king of Assyria is also the king of Babylon, more shifting identities. They will state that because of the wisdom and strength they think they possess, they will have accomplished these things upon the people of Jerusalem and Zion and will be mighty proud indeed of what they have accomplished.
The fire, smoke, and brimstone that issues out of the mouths of the horses/lions will provide us with another identification that is associated with the word issued.
The word issued means; proceed (out of). [12] This is very straightforward. In the under-definitions you will find the words; pierce, assay or test. [13] Yes, I would say that the Multitude is pierced, tested and assayed. Jesus Christ was pierced by not only Judas’s betrayal; Jesus was also pierced by a sword while He was on the cross. This word issued connects to another verse.
For she doted upon their paramours, whose flesh is as the flesh of asses, and whose issue is like the issue of horses. - Ezekiel 23:20
We are back to Aholibah. With this verse we have the connection to the asses that are spoken about in Isaiah 21. The second chariot of asses that the watchman sees is the 2nd woe, the 6th trumpet.
“She doted upon their paramours” is the identification of Aholibah who is Jerusalem which is identified in verse 4 of Ezekiel 23. “She (Aholibah) doted (Loved) [14] upon their paramours." (Her lovers) [15] Who are these paramours or lovers? The Assyrians are her lovers who will turn on her at the 5th and 6th trumpet.
She doted upon the Assyrians her neighbours, captains and rulers clothed most gorgeously, horsemen riding upon horses, all of them desirable young men. - Ezekiel 23:12
It then shifts from the Assyrians to the Babylonians in verse 17. “And the Babylonians came to her into the bed of love...”
The Assyrians are specifically the Serpents. But the Assyrians are also the Babylonians. Remember the Whore is the Whore of Babylon. These are shifting identities.
Her lovers are the Assyrians/Babylonians, the horsemen clothed in blue. (Jacinth) The Assyrians are the Serpents. The Assyrians/Babylonians flesh is as the flesh of asses, whose issue is the issue of horses. The issue of the asses is like the issue of the horses. This is a direct link to the asses of the second chariot or woe of Isaiah 21.
The word issue used in this verse brings us to an interesting definition. In the first under-definition we find; a gush of water, flood, overflowing, shower, storm, tempest. [16]
In two words in Isaiah 28:18, “overflowing scourge,” we have the identification of both the Scorpions and the Serpents. The definitions of the word issue connects to one of these two words.
Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place. [18] And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it. - Isaiah 28:17, 18
The word overflowing is defined as; to gush; by implication, to inundate, cleanse; by analogy, to gallop, conquer, drown, (over-)flow (- whelm, rinse, run, rush, (throughly) wash (away). [17]
It is the waters that overflow. Look again at the definition for issue pertaining to the issue of the asses; a gush of water, flood, overflowing, shower, storm, tempest.
Look at this definition in the word overflowing, to gush (Referring to water) matches exactly with gush of water. The word cleanse is the cleansing of the Multitude. “They washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.” [18] The word gallop directly links to the horses of the 6th trumpet. The word conquer is referring to the conquering of the saints.
The phrase overflowing scourge is the Tribulation. These two words also have the identification of both the 5th and the 6th trumpets within them. The word overflowing is the 6th trumpet. The word scourge we covered earlier. It is the definition for scorpion in the Old Testament.
The scourge is the 5th trumpet. The overflowing (Serpents) scourge (Scorpions) shall pass through and the Multitude shall be trodden down by them.
And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass. - Jeremiah 14:6
The words snuffed up means; to be angry; also to hasten...devour...snuff up, swallow up. [19]
Notice that one of the definitions is to be angry. That connects with the smoke representing the anger that the Serpents have.
“And the wild asses (Serpents) did stand in the high places, (Their exalted position they placed themselves in) they snuffed up (Devoured) the wind (The Multitude) like dragons; (Serpents) their eyes did fail, because there was no grass. (All the green grass was burnt up, the substance of the Multitude is gone, taken by the Scorpions) Jeremiah 14:6
