His Secret
Chapter 8
The Great Earthquake
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; [13] And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. [14] And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
[15] And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;[16] And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: [17] For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? - Revelation 6:12-17
A great earthquake occurs at the opening of the 6th seal. What is this earthquake? Is this a huge physical earthquake that is felt all around the world, or is this a spiritual earthquake that is felt all around the world or more appropriately the church? The definition for earthquake is; a commotion, i.e. (of the air) a gale, (of the ground) an earthquake, tempest. [1]
Look at this definition. It can either be an earthquake of the ground or a gale of the ground, a commotion or a tempest. There is a verse that uses this same definition but it is used in the context of a storm on the sea.
And, behold, there arose a great tempest in the sea, insomuch that the ship
was covered with the waves: but he was asleep. - Matthew 8:24
This is describing the time when there was a tempest or storm on the sea while the disciples were with Jesus on a ship. Jesus was awoken by the disciples and rebuked the wind and calmed the sea. This definition can also mean a tempest. When we look at the Whirlwind which comprises the 1st through the 4th trumpets; [2] we find that whirlwind has within its definition; tempest, and storm. [3]
The word commotion is defined as; to move, violent motion; turmoil; agitation; confusion; disturbance. [4] The word tempest is defined as; portion of time, weather, a calamity, storm, tempest. 1. A violent and extensive wind, especially one accompanied by rain, hail, or snow. 2. Any violent commotion or tumult. To affect as a tempest does; agitate violently. [5]
Let’s take a look at another verse that uses the word tempest.
And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones. - Isaiah 30:30
This is speaking about the Tribulation in the Lord’s usual verbalization of what He is going to do. Within this verse there are items spoken about that we are very familiar with. The devouring fire would be referring to the Scorpions of the 1st trumpet. The hail would be referring to the Serpents of the 1st trumpet. This is the hail and fire mingled with blood. The scattering is speaking about the scattering of the hair (Multitude) in the wind located in Ezekiel, chapter five. The wind being the storm (tempest) is the whirlwind of the four winds of the 1st through the 4th trumpets that disperses the Multitude.
The word tempest has an interesting definition. The definition for tempest is; a gush of water:--flood, overflowing, shower, storm, tempest. [6] Its under-definition means; to gush (as water):--carry away as with a flood, pour out. [7]
This definition connects to the overflowing scourge of Isaiah 28:15-18 that we were examining in connection to the Pale Horse of the 4th seal. The overflowing scourge is the tempest which is the great earthquake of the 6th seal. There is further confirmation of this in the following verses.
For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel; [20] So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that are upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground.
[21] And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother. [22] And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that are with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. – Ezekiel 38:19-22
The great shaking in the land of Israel is the great earthquake. The definition for shaking is; vibration, bounding, uproar:--commotion, confused noise, earthquake, fierceness, quaking, rattling, rushing, shaking. [8] The under-definition is; to undulate (as the earth, the sky, etc.; also a field of grain), particularly through fear; specifically, to spring (as a locust):--make afraid, (re-)move, quake, (make to) shake, (make to) tremble. [9]
The definition for shaking has the word earthquake within it and the under-definition has to spring (as a locust). There is a complete circle that occurs. The great earthquake of the 6th seal is a tempest of Isaiah 30:30 which links to the overflowing scourge of Isaiah 28 and brings you to the Scorpions and the Serpents. The great shaking takes you to the great earthquake and the locusts which are the Scorpions.
We also see that this can mean to undulate, the earth, sky, and a field of grain. What could a field of grain be referring to? Perhaps a field of wheat (Multitude) is what is being spoken about here. Let’s take a look at the word undulate. Undulate means; to cause to move in waves; move up and down or to and fro in undulations. [10]
As you will see later in this book, the field of grain (Multitude) will be covered with the waves of the sea of Babylon and there will be running to and fro that occurs upon this field.
Also the word fierceness within the definition of shaking is a link to the Serpents as seen in the following verse.
Their horses also are swifter than the leopards, and are more fierce than the evening wolves: and their horsemen shall spread themselves, and their horsemen shall come from far; they shall fly as the eagle that hasteth to eat. - Habakkuk 1:8
This verse has multiple metaphors identifying the Scorpions and the Serpents. The Scorpions are the leopards and the evening wolves. This verse states that the horsemen (Serpents) are swifter than the leopards (Scorpions) and more fierce than the evening wolves. (Scorpions) The horsemen shall spread out; they shall come from far as the eagle that is in a hurry to eat. This is describing the Serpents that expand their reach, they come from a far country (Edom) and they are in a hurry to kill the Multitude. The eagle in this verse is applicable to the Serpents. Where the eagles are gathered is where the dead bodies of the Multitude lie. [11]
The Serpents are more fierce than the Scorpions. In the definition and under-definition for the word shaking in Ezekiel 38:19 are the identifications of the Scorpions and the Serpents just as in the overflowing scourge of Isaiah 28:15-18. The great earthquake of the 6th seal is the great shaking in Ezekiel 38:19 which is also the overflowing scourge, which is also the great earthquake of the 6th seal.
The great earthquake is a metaphor for the Whirlwind, the Tribulation. In the Whirlwind there is a commotion, a great shaking that takes place. Spiritually there is a great earthquake. Ezekiel 38:20 continues with the different fleshes that are spoken about in 1 Corinthians 15:39, 40 which we previously covered. The men, fishes, birds, beasts, and creeping things will all shake at His presence during the great shaking. You have probably already noticed that creeping things has been added in this verse when compared to 1 Corinthians 15:39. We can find the identification of creeping things in another verse.
And makest men as the fishes of the sea, as the creeping things, that have no ruler over them? - Habakkuk 1:14
The creeping things have both the Serpents and the Scorpions within their definition. Let’s take a look. The definition for creeping things is; a reptile or any other rapidly moving animal:--that creepeth, creeping (moving) thing. [12] A serpent would qualify as a reptile and as seen in the verse in Habakkuk 1:8. They are swift, or a rapidly moving animal.
The under-definition is; properly, to glide swiftly, i.e. to crawl or move with short steps; by analogy to swarm:--creep, move. [13] A snake or serpent will glide swiftly. A swarm is associated with locusts who are the Scorpions. A swarm of locusts is a common term that you will hear.
Continuing in Ezekiel 38:20, the Lord will bring down all the mountains, the steep (Spiritually high) places and every wall that they have built themselves with untempered mortar. We can find confirmation of this in the following passage.
Because, even because they have seduced my people, saying, Peace; and there was no peace; and one built up a wall, and, lo, others daubed it with untempered morter: [11] Say unto them which daub it with untempered morter, that it shall fall: there shall be an overflowing shower; and ye, O great hailstones, shall fall; and a stormy wind shall rend it. [12] Lo, when the wall is fallen, shall it not be said unto you, Where is the daubing wherewith ye have daubed it?
[13] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; I will even rend it with a stormy wind in my fury; and there shall be an overflowing shower in mine anger, and great hailstones in my fury to consume it. [14] So will I break down the wall that ye have daubed with untempered morter, and bring it down to the ground, so that the foundation thereof shall be discovered, and it shall fall, and ye shall be consumed in the midst thereof: and ye shall know that I am the LORD. – Ezekiel 13:10-14
Look at these verses and ponder them. This has all of the language within the definitions that we have been examining. This wall shall fall with a stormy wind, overflowing shower, and great hailstones. This wall falls from the great shaking that occurs in Ezekiel 38:19.
Ezekiel 38:21 states that a sword comes against them, the sword of the Red horse is the sword that comes after the Multitude in Ezekiel, chapter 5 wielded by the Serpents. The Serpents were the brothers of the Multitude and their swords will cut down their former brothers.
Ezekiel 38:22 states that the Lord will rain down upon them overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone. The overflowing rain would be the overflowing scourge that drowns the Multitude. The great hailstones are the hail of the 1st trumpet and the fire is also of the 1st trumpet. We also have two items mentioned here of the fire and the brimstone which are identified with the 6th trumpet by whom 1/3 of the men are killed (Multitude) by the fire, smoke, and brimstone issued out of the horses mouths.
The great earthquake is the Great Tribulation which comes down upon the Multitude with the Scorpions and the Serpents as the major players. They are the ones that are the earthquake, the tempest and the overflowing scourge.
The 6th seal then continues with “and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; [13] And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.” – Revelation 6:12, 13
The sun is a metaphor for the Scorpions which become black; linking the Scorpions to the Black Horse of the 3rd seal. The moon is a metaphor for the Multitude whose blood is spilled as a martyr. They will wash their robes in the blood of the Lamb and their robes are made white [14] linking them to the White Horse of the 1st seal.
The stars are a metaphor for the Serpents which are likened to the untimely figs of the fig tree. A word in the definition of the word pale of the Pale Horse was verdant which referenced unripe fruit. The untimely fig would fit this definition perfectly. This links the stars (Serpents) to the Pale Horse of the 4th seal. We have all four of the horsemen and riders indentified in this verse.
The sun is made black, (Scorpions fall) the moon becomes as blood, (The blood of the Multitude) and the stars fall from heaven. (Serpents fall) These metaphors are also described in the 4th trumpet which is enacted at the 5th and 6th trumpets.
And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. - Revelation 6:14
What does this verse mean? This is very cryptic, but can be understood. It is not speaking about the physical atmosphere departing and such a large physical earthquake that it moves every mountain and island out of their places. It is describing the division of the church. How so?
The celestial (Spiritual) heavens are where the celestial (Spiritual) sun, moon, and stars are located. The word departed means; to rend apart; reflexively, to separate. [15] The heavens are rend apart or separated. This is the separating of the sun, moon, and stars into their different divisions.
There is war in heaven when Satan gets cast down at the 5th trumpet. We are also told that the stars (Serpents) fall from heaven at this time. The sun is blackened and the moon is as blood. This is speaking about the dividing of Ezekiel’s hair. This is the separation of the Kingdom of Heaven into the specific groups of the Scorpions, the Serpents, and the Multitude.
Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a net, that was cast into the sea, and gathered of every kind: [48] Which, when it was full, they drew to shore, and sat down, and gathered the good into vessels, but cast the bad away. [49] So shall it be at the end of the world: the angels shall come forth, and sever the wicked from among the just, - Matthew 13:47-49
The Kingdom of heaven is separated. The bad (Scorpions and Serpents) are severed from the just (Multitude) just as in the parable about the owner of the field where good seed is planted and the tares grow amongst the wheat. The tares are separated out of the field of wheat and the wheat is gathered into the barn. (The Multitude is killed) The Kingdom of Heaven is departed. (Separated) Spiritual Babylon is divided or separated into three parts.
We get further confirmation of this in these next definitions.
This verse tells us that “the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together.” This is a metaphor. Let’s look at a couple more definitions. Scroll means; a roll, bill, book, scroll, writing. [16] The phrase rolled together means; to coil or wrap, roll together. [17] Its sub-definition means; to coil or wrap, fold up. [18]
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. - Revelation 3:5
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. – Revelation 13:8
These verses above will help to explain Revelation 6:14. The Multitude’s names are written in the book of life and their names are not blotted out. The apostate, however, are blotted out of the book of life and they shall worship the beast. There names are not in book of life and so they are separated from the Multitude into their specific groups of the Scorpions and the Serpents. This would be referring to the scroll, the book with or without their names.
The scroll that is rolled together is the joining together of the 2/3 apostate into their union. The confirmation of this is to trace this back to Isaiah 9:18. The briers and the thorns shall mount up like the lifting up of smoke which occurs at the 5th trumpet. The definition for the phrase mount up is; to coil up, mount up. [19] This is the same phrase that is used in the sub-definition for the word rolled.
“The heavens departed as a scroll that is rolled together” is describing the separation into the thirds of Ezekiel’s hair and the dividing of Babylon. The apostate are blotted out of the book of life, and are joined together as the briers and the thorns. The Multitude is left therein and the book of life is closed or rolled together.
There is another verse in Isaiah that is very similar in language.
And all the host of heaven shall be dissolved, and the heavens shall be rolled together as a scroll: and all their host shall fall down, as the leaf falleth off from the vine, and as a falling fig from the fig tree. - Isaiah 34:4
“The host of heaven” would be referring to the celestial stars which shall be dissolved. This will be discussed further in “The Host of Heaven.” The heavens shall be rolled together is almost word for word with Revelation 6:14. “All their host shall fall down” is referring to the sun, moon, and stars. All of them fall. The Scorpions and the Serpents fall, and the Multitude falls. There is another verse that compares with these two verses that contains the word dissolved within it.
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,
[12] Looking for and hasting unto the coming of the day of God, wherein the heavens being on fire shall be dissolved, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat? [13] Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness. – 2 Peter 3:10-13
These verses are speaking about the day of the Lord which is the Tribulation. It comes without anyone (Except the 144,000) seeing it coming. The heavens shall pass away with a great noise. The heavens would be referring to the Kingdom of Heaven which contains the Serpents, the Scorpions, and the Multitude. They shall all pass away. The elements would be describing all that is contained in the Kingdom of Heaven; these being the Serpents, the Scorpions, and the Multitude. The heavens shall be on fire for the Scorpions and the Serpents will burn up the Multitude as they are presently all in the Kingdom of Heaven.
We are to look for a new heaven and a new earth in the form of New Jerusalem; for the old earth and the old heaven (Kingdom of Heaven which includes the earth and its inhabitants within the construct of the church) are presently passing away.
“…And every mountain and island were moved out of their places.” – Revelation 6:14
Mountains are metaphorically spiritual high places. This would be the places where the Serpents dwell. They are of the pious religious authority of the present day church. They shall be moved out of their place. The Scorpions are linked to the islands. They shall be moved out of their place. Each of the groups will not be sitting where they were prior to the blowing of the trumpets. The Lord is going to separate and divide them and put them out of their former locations. They will be moved out of their places.
And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;[16] And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: [17] For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? – Revelation 6:15-17
These are some very enigmatic verses to decipher. With our understanding the spiritual construct of the church and their mindsets, these verses are understandable.
The kings of the earth, the great men, the rich men, the chief captains, the mighty men, the bondmen, and the free men hide themselves in the dens and the rocks of the mountains. What could this possibly mean? For one, this would be groups of people within the church. They would have to be what was previously being discussed. This would have to be describing the Scorpions, the Serpents, and the Multitude. They are hiding. Hiding from what?
They are hiding from wrath of the Lamb. What exactly is the wrath of the Lamb? It is the wrath that the Lord brings down upon the Multitude via the Scorpions and the Serpents. It would also include the wrath that the Lord will eventually bring down upon the Scorpions and the Serpents. The wrath of the Lamb is the Tribulation. It is the Tribulation that they are hiding from.
Put that into modern day parlance and there is a perfect theology that fits this premise; the pre-tribulation rapture; and add to that Christian Zionism. Both of these theologies are lies and are blinding all that are involved in these lies. Lies keep them hidden from the wrath to come.
Let’s now look at the definitions of hid, dens, and rocks from Revelation 6:15, 16 and apply these to the current church system mindset.
The word hid means; to conceal (properly, by covering):--hide (self),keep secret, secret(-ly). [20]
The word dens means; (a grotto); a cavern; by implication, a hiding-place or resort:--cave, den. [21]
The definition for rocks is; rocks a (mass of) rock (literally or figuratively):--rock. [22] The under-definition means; a (piece of) rock, as a name, Petrus, an apostle:--Peter, rock. [23]
They are trying to hide from the wrath of the Lamb by concealing or covering themselves in the dens and the rocks of the mountains which are hiding places. The mountains in the spiritual construct are the spiritual high places. Jesus is referred to as a stone and a rock. Mount Zion is a mountain and is a spiritual mountain in the spiritual construct.
Look at the under-definition for rock. The apostle Peter is named as this rock. This would be based upon the belief that Peter had in Jesus. Jesus said to Peter “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”[24] This puts rocks as a spiritual doctrine or belief.
When they say “to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us;” they are wanting their beliefs to cover them and hide them from the Lord. When they are hiding in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains, they are hiding within their lies of escapism and protection from the wrath to come.
“It shall not come unto us they shall say.” We can find confirmation of this in Isaiah.
Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves: - Isaiah 28:15
We have examined this verse previously. It is speaking about the Multitude that has made a covenant with Death (Serpents) and with Hell (Scorpions) they are in agreement. These two groups, the Serpents and the Scorpions have fed a pack of lies basing their lies upon the rock of Peter that there shall be no harm that comes to any of them. They have made the lies their refuge and hid themselves in it. Let’s compare the definitions for refuge and hid in this verse with the previous definitions for dens and hide in the 6th seal.
The definition for refuge is; a shelter (literally or figuratively):--hope, (place of) refuge, shelter, trust. [25] The definition for hid is; to hide (by covering), literally or figuratively:--be absent, keep close, conceal, hide (self), (keep) secret, X surely. [26]
These definitions are almost exact replicas of one another. The dens and rocks they are hiding in the 6th seal is their false doctrines. There is additional confirmation of this premise in the following verses.
But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the and of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers. [16] Behold, I will send for many fishers, saith the LORD, and they shall fish them; and after will I send for many hunters, and they shall hunt them from every mountain, and from every hill, and out of the holes of the rocks. [17] For mine eyes are upon all their ways: they are not hid from my face, neither is their iniquity hid from mine eyes. - Jeremiah 16:15, 16
When the Tribulation begins, the children of Israel (Multitude) go into captivity via the Scorpions which are in the land of the south. They are then transferred to the Serpents which are in the land of the north. [27] The Multitude is taken by the Scorpions first which are referenced in this passage as the fishers. Remember that the Multitude was previously identified as the fishes in 1 Corinthians 15:39.
They are then taken by the Serpents which are referenced in this passage as the hunters. They are taken out of the mountains, the hills, and the holes in the rocks where they have hid themselves in the refuge of lies and falsehood. A hole in the rock would be a den or place of refuge, a hiding place. They will be hunted by lions, bears, and leopards.
It is established that the Multitude is the one that is hiding in the dens and the rocks of the mountains. Let’s now look and see who else is there in the dens, for we know that the Multitude is mingled with the Scorpions and the Serpents within the churches until they come out of her.
Come with me from Lebanon, my spouse, with me from Lebanon: look from the
top of Amana, from the top of Shenir and Hermon, from the lions' dens, from the mountains of the leopards. - Song 4:8
This verse is speaking about the Multitude under the name of Lebanon. They have been on the mountains (Spiritual) of Amana, Shenir, and Hermon. The Lord is asking the Multitude to come from where they were (in the lies) to Him as His spouse. The Multitude comes from the lion’s dens and the mountains of the leopards. The lion would be referring to the Serpents in this verse and the leopards are referring to the Scorpions.
We can also pick up that if the Multitude is coming from Amana, Shenir, and Hermon, that these would be the spiritual places where the Scorpions and the Serpents abide. This is flowery language to bring forth a concept. Here are a few more verses.
The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin. - Nahum 2:12
The lions can be either the Scorpions or the Serpents or both. In either of these cases whether it is one or the other or both, the lion fills his hole with the prey (Multitude) and his dens with meat. (Multitude) We can find out by looking into the definitions to see if this verse is speaking about the Serpents, the Scorpions, or both of them.
The word holes that they fill with the prey means; a cavity, socket, den:--cave, hole. [28] The under-definition gives us the answers we seek. It is; probably meaning to bore; the crevice of a serpent; the cell of a prison:--hole. [29] We have the identification of both the Serpents crevice of a serpent and the Scorpions the cell of a prison. The “cell of a prison” is referring to the Scorpions causing the Multitude to be placed into captivity.
The Serpents fill their crevices with the prey (Multitude) and the Scorpions fill the prison cell with their prey. (Multitude) Let’s take a look at the next word. The word dens means; den, habitation, (dwelling) place, refuge. [30] The den in this definition is also a refuge, which connects back to Isaiah 28:15. The refuge of lies that they are in is very fitting.
This definition also has within it habitation or dwelling place. If we, as true followers of Jesus Christ are seated in heavenly places, then those that are in lies are habitating and dwelling in places that are not in the heavenlies. They would be what we refer to as the earth dwellers. By all appearances they are dwelling in the dens and mountains of lies which are located where?
They are located in spiritual Babylon, the local church. We can find confirmation of this in the next definition from the word den. This under-definition reads; an abode, of God (the Tabernacle or the Temple), men (their home) or animals (their lair); hence, a retreat (asylum):--den, (dwellingplace), habitation. [31]
The dens are the churches where they dwell. Remember the rock that they want to fall on them? The definition took us to the rock Peter, which the Lord builds His church upon. The Multitude is in the deception that they are walking in the truth when in fact they are in the dens of lies with the Serpents and the Scorpions.
The next under-definition clinches it. It means; apparently meaning to dwell together; sexual (cohabitation):--duty of marriage. [32] The Multitude is mingled with the Scorpions and the Serpents. They are dwelling together in the dens with lies as their refuge. They are spiritually cohabitating as the Whore of Babylon and in essence they are married to each other in the spiritual sense. The Multitude has left the husband of her youth and gone to be with another. But the Lord accepts her back into His fold.
They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, shall he return unto her again? shall not that land be greatly polluted? but thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith the LORD. – Jeremiah 3:1
Return, ye backsliding children, and I will heal your backslidings. Behold, we come unto thee; for thou art the LORD our God. [23] Truly in vain is salvation hoped for from the hills, and from the multitude of mountains: truly in the LORD our God is the salvation of Israel. – Jeremiah 3:22, 23
These backsliding children are looking to the hills and the mountains for their salvation. These are they that are hiding in the dens and the rocks of the mountains in the lies of refuge and hope of their salvation. But only the Lord God has the true salvation of Israel in his hands and the Multitude will return to Him.
The last definition is for the word ravin; prey, i.e. flocks devoured by animals:--ravin, (that which was) torn (of beasts, in pieces). [33] The under-definition means; something torn, i.e. a fragment, e.g. a fresh leaf, prey, food:--leaf, meat, prey, spoil. [34]
This brings to mind the following verse that describes the word ravin perfectly.
Thus saith the LORD; As the shepherd taketh out of the mouth of the lion two legs, or a piece of an ear; so shall the children of Israel be taken out that dwell in Samaria in the corner of a bed, and in Damascus in a couch. - Amos 3:12
The shepherd is removing the torn up fragments of a lamb out of the mouth of this lion. In the same way will the children of Israel (Multitude) be taken out of Samaria and Damascus which are spiritual identifications for spiritual Babylon. The flocks devoured by animals would be the flock of sheep of the Lord that are devoured by the beasts of the field and the birds of the heavens, both of which are lions.
The Multitude is a prey for the Serpents and a spoil for the Scorpions. Here are some additional verses for dens that will let us know who is in these dens.
And I will make Jerusalem heaps, and a den of dragons; and I will make the cities of Judah desolate, without an inhabitant. - Jeremiah 9:11
Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons. - Jeremiah 10:22
Jerusalem and the cities of Judah have become a den of dragons. Jerusalem shall become heaps with the sacrifices of the Multitude at the hands of the Serpents, all in the name of their god. The dens of the dragons are the dens of the Serpents, the lions den.
Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD. - Jeremiah 7:11
Saying unto them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer: but ye have made it a den of thieves. - Luke 19:46
The synagogues have become a den of robbers and thieves. This would be applicable to the Scorpions. The church has become a den of dragons (Serpents) and thieves. (Scorpions) Jesus stated this in Luke when he overturned the moneychanger’s tables that were selling the sacrifices for profit. He likened them to thieves. The thieves are the Scorpions who sell the sacrifices (Multitude) for profit. History repeats itself.
In hopes of keeping themselves in their cozy belief system that they will not see any death or sorrow, they have buried themselves in their deception of their false doctrines. They are the ones that are hiding in the dens and the mountains attempting to cover themselves with the rocks of their false doctrine. What they don’t know is that when the Lord brings the great earthquake and rends apart the heavens and burns up the elements, their cozy belief system will be shattered and they will be pulled from their dens by the hunters and the fishers and torn apart by the lions as their prey and their spoil.
The sixth trumpet is an overview of the entire Tribulation, and the groups that participate within the Tribulation. The 7th seal is an explanation of what happens to the Multitude and contains a timing element within it.
