Scene 3 Part 7
The Plumbline
As this is occurring, a large plumb-bob on a cord is lowered from the ceiling. It is lowered and stops a few feet above the group in the middle of the church scene. It hovers over the group with the dirty robes and wheat tassels.
The Book (Bible)
The Book (Bible) tells us this large plumb-bob represents the Plumbline that the Lord sets in the midst of Israel. The Lord sets the Plumbline in the midst of His people, Israel to be measured against.
Amos 7:7, 8 Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the Lord stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand. And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the Lord, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: (Spiritual Israel – The Church - Babylon) I will not again pass by them any more:
Plumbline 0594 'anak, an-awk' probably from an unused root meaning to be narrow; according to most a plumb-line, and to others a hook:--plumb-line.
Matthew 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few (144,000 and eventually the Multitude) there be that find it.
