His Secret
Chapter 5
The Black Horse and the Scales
And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand. [6] And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine. - Revelation 6:5, 6
The black horse is a representation of the Scorpions. The pair of balances is an identification of commerce using the elements of wheat and barley with monetary value. The Scorpions betray the Multitude for personal gain. Let’s examine this horse and its attributes which links the black horse to the Scorpions.
We find a verse in Revelation that identifies the sun as becoming black.
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; - Revelation 6:12
The sun is a metaphorical identification of the Scorpions which is identified in this verse as being black. [1] The sun (Scorpions) becomes black when they spiritually deteriorate to their degenerate state that they become. They are the betrayers of the Multitude who are in collusion with the Serpents.
The rider on this horse is holding a pair of balances in his hand that is being used to weigh wheat and barley grain for monetary exchange. This rider is also told to not hurt the oil or the wine. There are spiritual metaphoric identifications of these aforementioned objects in this verse that we will examine.
The definition of pair of balances is; (to join, especially by a "yoke"); a coupling, i.e. (figuratively) servitude (a law or obligation); also (literally) the beam of the balance (as connecting the scales):--pair of balances, yoke. [2]
This definition is very interesting as there are many clues within this definition that links to the Scorpions. The phrase to join and coupling is indicative of the union between the Scorpions and the Serpents. They join or couple themselves together. The Scorpions are also in a position of consented servitude to the Serpents. They serve under the law of the Serpents in which they receive a monetary reward for bringing into captivity the Multitude.
The word yoke within this definition links directly to the Multitude. A yoke of iron is placed upon them as the iron is associated with the Scorpions. [3] Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.
- Deuteronomy 28:48
This verse is located within the text of the curses that the Lord brings upon a people that are not walking in the path they are supposed to be walking. These are the curses that come down upon the Multitude. One of the curses is a yoke of iron that he brings upon the Multitude until they are destroyed. In the next two verses, the same word that is used for the pair of balances in Revelation 6:5 is used for the word yoke.
For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. - Matthew 11:30
The Lord’s yoke is easy and his burden is light. The yoke of iron that is put upon the Multitude and the burden that they have put themselves under is heavy.
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. - Galatians 5:1
The Multitude becomes entangled again with the yoke of bondage.
The pair of balances that this rider is holding is also representative of balances of deceit. There is another verse where one of these balances shows up. When we search the Bible for another example to examine, this verse appears.
He is a merchant, the balances of deceit are in his hand: he loveth to oppress. - Hosea 12:7.
This verse would be speaking about the Scorpions. The Scorpions are thieves and liars. They operate under deceit and deception. They betray the Multitude for their thirty pieces of silver. The Scorpions are merchants who trade the Multitude for monetary compensation or the possessions of the Multitude; hence the “measure of wheat for a penny.” The Multitude is metaphorically represented as the wheat in the parable about the sower and the field with the tares (Scorpions and Serpents) that appear in the wheat field. [4]
“A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny” gives us another clue. The wheat is representative of the Multitude and the barley is representative of the 144,000 based on previous work in “The 144,000 and the Multitude.” [5] Also based on previous work, the 144,000 are sealed and are protected from the Scorpions and the Serpents. This verse can be confusing, for it indicates that the 144,000 are also fair game for the Scorpions, until we examine this more closely and determine what is being stated in this verse.
A measure is a unit of measurement indicating a set quantity. In this case one measure of wheat is equal to three measures of barley. One of the Multitude is equal to 3 of the 144,000. This places a higher value on the wheat. It would take three of the 144,000 to equal 1of the Multitude making the Multitude of higher importance and their reward is of a greater value to the Scorpions.
The Multitude is three times greater in value to the Scorpions than the 144,000 and therefore of greater importance to them. Does this mean that the Scorpions can also take the 144,000? The verse would seem to indicate that, however, the 144,000 are sealed and protected. In addition, the Scorpions are told in two different places in scripture that they can not harm the 144,000. Look at what immediately follows.
“And see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.” The oil and the wine would be representative of the 144,000. The Scorpions are directly commanded not to hurt them, the 144,000. This identification of the “oil and the wine” can be substantiated by comparing it to another command in the 5th trumpet given to the Scorpions not to hurt something.
And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power. [4] And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not the seal of God in their foreheads. – Revelation 9:3, 4
In the previous work “The Trumpet Judgements Unveiled” is has been established that the locust/scorpions of the 5th trumpet are commanded not to hurt the grass of the earth which are the possessions of the 144,000, nor are they allowed to hurt the trees, which would be the 144,000. Additionally they are not allowed to harm any green thing which would be pertaining to the works of the 144,000. For it tells us in the very next part of the verse who they are allowed to hurt and that would be the ones without the seal of God in their foreheads which would be the Multitude.
The Scorpions of the 5th trumpet and the Black Horse of the 3rd Seal are both identifications of the same group of people. In both the 5th trumpet and the 3rd Seal there are commandments from the Lord not to hurt the 144,000 using the metaphors of green grass, trees, green things, the oil, and the wine. There is additional clarification to these identifications being attributable to the 144,000.
In the 1st Trumpet the Hail (Serpents) and the Fire (Scorpions) mingled with the Blood of the Multitude destroy all the green grass and 1/3 of the trees. The green grass is referring to the possessions of the Multitude and the trees are representative of the Multitude themselves, that being 1/3 of Babylon that is divided into thirds.
The green grass and 1/3 of the trees are destroyed and in the 5th trumpet, the Scorpions are commanded not to hurt the green grass, trees, or any green thing that was already destroyed in the 1st trumpet. This is because these metaphors are attributable to all four groups; the 144,000, the Multitude, the Scorpions, and the Serpents. The Scorpions destroy the Multitude and take their possessions while they are not allowed to touch the 144,000 and their possessions. We can find additional confirmation of this in Deuteronomy.
Earlier, we were looking at the word yoke contained in the definition for a pair of balances. These verses pertaining to those that are under the curses of the Lord experience what is found in Deuteronomy, chapter 28. This verse was quoted earlier.
Therefore shalt thou serve thine enemies which the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things: and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee. - Deuteronomy 28:48
These curses will come upon the Multitude. If we keep reading we will come to a verse that speaks about oil and wine.
The LORD shall bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as swift as the eagle flieth; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand; [50] A nation of fierce countenance, which shall not regard the person of the old, nor shew favour to the young: [51] And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy land, until thou be destroyed: which also shall not leave thee either corn, wine, or oil, or the increase of thy kine, or flocks of thy sheep, until he have destroyed thee. - Deuteronomy 28:49-51
Beginning in verse 49 there are metaphors that identify the participants of these curses. The eagle is a metaphor for the Serpents; “For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.” – Matthew 24:28
They are a nation that the Multitude cannot understand their tongue or their language for they hold up the physical Jews as the chosen people and are killing the very ones they should be blessing. The nation of Serpents, are fierce and will have no mercy. Even though the Scorpions are not specifically identified within these verses, we know that the Scorpions are there with the Serpents for the union that they have formed between themselves.
Look at verse 51. The wine and the oil are taken from the Multitude. These metaphors may indicate possessions of the Multitude or they may be indicating the previous works of the Multitude. Wine is a product of treading out and oil is a product of being pressed out. Both wine and oil are the end produce of works. The works that the Multitude accomplished in their lives in the church will be counted for nothing. The Multitude’s works in Babylon are not counted for they were not doing them with an uncircumsized heart. When they come to the truth, their works from that point on will follow them. [6] What they have done in the past will vaporize. The works of the 144,000 on the other hand will be counted for something. They are laying up treasures in heaven.
In the third seal of the Black Horse, they are told not to hurt the oil or the wine. In verse 51 of Deuteronomy, they do hurt (remove the Multitude’s possessions and works) the oil and the wine.
In two places we can find where the Multitudes possessions are removed. In two places we can find where these same items are commanded that no harm come to the 144,000 and both of these are in the 5th trumpet (the Scorpions) and the 3rd seal of the Black Horse which is also the Scorpions.
The Scorpions become black as sackcloth of hair. They carry the balances of deceit in their hand and force a yoke of iron upon the Multitude. They put a valuable price on the Multitude’s head, and are not allowed to touch the 144,000.
The Black Horse is a representation of the Scorpions of the 5th trumpet. The metaphoric links are present along with the characteristics of the Scorpions.
