The 144,000
There has not been much known or written about the 144,000 and the Multitude spoken about in Revelation. In fact, the 144,000 are only mentioned twice, and the Multitude is only mentioned once directly by name in the book of Revelation. Are there more than just these scriptures? Yes, there is, much, much, more. In fact, there is quite a bit of scripture that pertains to the 144,000 and the Multitude.
Two popular theologies have been taught in the mainstream church for many years. One of these is propagated by the Jehovah Witnesses, as they claim to be the 144,000. On the other hand the rapture doctrine teaches that the 144,000 are physical Jewish male virgins that are sealed after the rapture occurs.
Are either of these, correct? Or is there another explanation for who these 144,000 are? We will investigate the scriptures and find the evidence that both of these theologies are incorrect and that there is an explanation within the scriptures that clearly shows who the 144,000 are, and what their purpose is. And yes, they do have a purpose. They have a very important role to play in the end times.
We will then investigate the Multitude. We will probe who they are and what role they play during the end times. I would first like to establish who the 144,000 is, for they have a link to the Multitude during the tribulation. For this reason, the book is in two parts.
An integral part of the understanding and recognition of who the 144,000 are; relies upon an understanding of who you are in Christ; by putting away the leaven of the churches and understanding the concept of who is the true “Remnant of Israel.” A detailed study of the true identity of the remnant is crucial to an accurate understanding of the true identity of the 144,000 and the Multitude; for only the Remnant of Israel can be the 144,000 and the Multitude.
