A Wheel within a Wheel
The Four Groups
The church (Spiritual Israel) is divided into four groups at the onset of the Tribulation. They are separated into ‘The 144,000’, ‘The Multitude’, ‘The Serpents’, and ‘The Scorpions’.
The sealing of the 144,000 takes place before the onset of the tribulation. When the 144,000 have ‘come out of her’, (Babylon) what is left in the church (Israel, Babylon) is the modern day apostate church.
The remaining three groups of the apostate church are then divided into thirds. The Serpents and the Scorpions are bound together in their unholy union. The Multitude is set apart from the Serpents and the Scorpions to go through the fire.
The 144,000 and the Multitude are members of a group called ‘The Remnant of Israel’. The Serpents and the Scorpions are members of the group that forms ‘The Beast’.
The following subchapters will examine each of these groups focusing on who they are, what each of their roles are during the Tribulation, where they are found in scripture, and metaphorical identifiers that are found throughout the scriptures.
